In the rapidly growing world of e-commerce, there has been a surge in online retail orders, with a remarkable 129% year-over-year growth last April in the United States and Canada. This shift towards online shopping has been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to significant opportunities for businesses operating in the digital space.

One such success story involves CELA, a specialized e-commerce company that focuses on selling high-quality jewelry, with a particular emphasis on pearls. Their commitment to providing unique and exquisite jewelry sets them apart in the market, where they have established themselves as a reputable brand.

In late 2019, CELA approached our team seeking assistance with their SEO strategy to enhance their online visibility and increase their website’s traffic. Before engaging our services, CELA’s website was struggling to attract more than 3,000 monthly visitors. Our goal was clear – to improve their search ranking, optimize relevant keywords, and build a stronger backlink profile.

To begin, we conducted a comprehensive SEO audit, evaluating their existing web traffic, keywords, and backlinks. This assessment revealed a flat trend in traffic, fluctuating around 2,000 visitors per month, with limited rankings for only 1,650 keywords and 170 referring domains. Identifying “easy win” keywords – those already ranking between positions 4-30 – became a pivotal part of our strategy. With nearly 6,000 such keywords in the United States alone, we aimed to leverage these opportunities and incorporate them into CELA’s website content to boost their rankings.

Additionally, we performed a competitive gap analysis, analyzing the strategies employed by CELA’s main competitors. By identifying 3,638 unique keywords that CELA was not ranking for, we gained valuable insights to tailor our approach further.

Our SEO campaign primarily focused on content creation and link building. Through SEO-optimized blogs, guest posts, and content syndication, we enhanced CELA’s online presence and authority in the jewelry market. As a result of this comprehensive strategy, their monthly website visitors soared to around 10,000 within a year.

The impact of our efforts is evident in the substantial growth of their organic keywords, which increased from 1,650 to an impressive 14,254 – a remarkable 764% rise. Many of these keyword gains were a result of implementing “easy win” strategies, coupled with our dedicated efforts to expand their overall SEO performance. Furthermore, CELA’s rankings in positions 1-3 also doubled during this period.

Moreover, our link building initiatives proved successful as the number of referring domains increased from 170 to approximately 400. This extensive network of reputable websites linking to CELA’s platform contributed to their enhanced credibility and online visibility.
